Printmaking
and photography inspire me to experiment on parallel artistic levels of
chance and the unexpected. When I am composing my work I feel almost as
if I am walking around a bend and don’t know what is on the other side.
I wake up in the middle of the night with an idea and fly with it as
soon as I get to the studio, almost not thinking as the work takes
shape, form and color. There is infinite freedom in creating monotypes
because there is no dress rehearsal. I use a variety of techniques for
monotypes including collagraph, chine colle, solar etching and found
objects.
